“This situation with COVID-19 really changed my life, I can’t do anything that I love. My boyfriend asked me, ‘What you want to do’ and I answered, ‘I want to learn more about design.’ I started looking for remote classes and that’s how I found RISD CE and where my journey began.

I signed up for a remote jewelry class with Tzu Ju Chen, who’s a great teacher, and my classmates who gave me different perceptions about jewelry design. I always enjoyed my weekly assignments and felt sad when class was over.

It’s a challenge for me living in Singapore and wanting to take an offline class, but Tzu Ju Chen always understood my situation, gave good advice, and really good feedback for every assignment. In these photos, I’m wearing what I designed for my final assignment; it showcases how much I learned and where I’d like to take my collection.

Now that I’ve finished this fall class, I am more confident and proud of my jewelry design. One day, and I hope it’s soon, I can release my own jewelry brand. Thanks, RISD CE!”
