“My journey to RISD CE started when I was furloughed from my job over the summer and took my son to our pediatrician; she mentioned RISD was now virtual! Interior design was always a lifelong passion; this summer the pieces fell into place for me to finally pursue this dream!

I was pleasantly surprised to find challenging coursework in CE. So often this isn’t the case! My online instructor, Rina Naik, opened my eyes to why interiors bring a certain feel—something I always knew, but I never knew why. What I found challenging and rewarding was doing color inventories for the same view at 3x during the day, and having 20+ colors to inspect; I felt like an expert on mixing greens afterwards! I also needed to get used to adjusting color for submitting assignments; oftentimes, photos read differently on device screens than the physical project, so adjusting for this has become such a bigger part of the process than I was aware of before.

If you’re contemplating taking a RISD CE online course, just do it! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.”
