Connect, Engage, Create with RISD CE Online This Summer
No matter where you are, what your skill level, or how much time you have this summer, RISD CE Online has a course for you! Programs include weekend workshops, multi-week sessions, credit-bearing courses, and the new Advanced Program for High School Students. Choose from over 130 online courses with time commitments ranging from 3 hours to 8 weeks.
These online courses begin June 22 but the last day to register is Wednesday, June 17 at 5 pm EDT. We recommend registering as soon as possible, as we reached enrollment capacity very quickly this past spring. Join us online this summer to stay on track with a certificate program, explore a new subject, or take your very first course in art and design!
Adult Courses (ages 18+)
RISD CE Online offers accessible, flexible and immersive learning experiences that you can access anywhere. Join us online to stay on track with a certificate program, explore a new subject, or take your very first course in art and design. Courses are designed especially for people with busy schedules and active lives, and are taught by professional artists, designers and makers. We’re open admission – we welcome everyone! Courses run from June 22 – July 27, 2020.
RISD Summer Programs (credit courses)
RISD Summer Programs credit-bearing courses are now online! Whether you’re a student looking to earn college credit, an adult looking for artistic advancement, or a creative professional looking to make a big change, you can advance your creative practice with Rhode Island School of Design this summer. All courses offer three (3) credits and run for six weeks. Courses run from June 22 – July 31, 2020.
Advanced Program for High School Students
The new RISD Advanced Program for High School Students offers high school students the opportunity to access intensive, collegiate-level classes as they work towards a college application portfolio. This online program is offered in two distinct 4-week sessions, for students completing grades 9-12, and offers an expressive curriculum informed by our rapidly changing world. By choosing to enroll in both sessions students will have the opportunity to develop a broad variety of work.
Teen Courses (ages 13–17)
From animation and moviemaking to fashion design and art school prep, some attend RISD CE Online Teen Courses for fun and enrichment, while others have a more academic goal in mind. These online courses provide a strong grounding in the visual arts and encourages creative and personal growth through self-expression. They can be taken on an individual basis, or as part of a focused curriculum in one of our teen certificate programs. Classes run from June 22 – August 14, 2020.
Most courses will be taught asynchronously through our online course management system CE Link, giving you the flexible and high-quality learning experience that you can access anytime, from anywhere. Some courses meet live during a specific time of day, in Eastern Time, on the video conferencing platform Zoom. Please visit our Registration Help page for additional information and resources.
