“RISD is a school I’ve been interested in for a long time. After first hearing about it from my art teacher in Texas and then learning about the Pre-College program, I thought it would be a really great opportunity to test the waters and push myself out of my comfort zone as an artist.

The thing that surprised me most about RISD was how welcoming and kind everyone was, and how absolutely amazing the campus was, in all respects. I think Drawing Foundations was the most challenging course for me because it forced me to think more about how I approach my pieces. Some words of advice I would give to someone thinking about taking a RISD CE class is to be open to stepping out of your comfort zone.

If I were to sum up my creative process, it’s really based on inspiration and spur-of-the-moment; I do a lot of sketching and thinking about ideas before I attempt to execute them.”
