Do you like to draw? Are you a storyteller, or maybe even an inventor and builder of things? Discover how creative problem-solving, collaboration and expression are at the heart of art and design. All of which can prepare you for your future goals—whether or not you’re considering a career in art and design.

When you join teen online classes at Rhode Island School of Design, outstanding artists, designers and educators will lead you toward inspiring career paths and creative problem-solving skills. You will meet online weekly (via Zoom) where you will connect with other teen makers.

Learning experience

Age eligibility: 13–17 years old
Live Zoom meetings: 1 hour per class
Online assignments and work: Minimum 3 hours per week
Assessment and grading: Personalized assessment
Learning management system: Canvas

You will meet online weekly where you will join an engaged community of makers while honing academic and career goals with the support of your instructors. Teen online courses are synchronous, meaning you will meet live during a specific time of day, in Eastern Time, on the video conferencing platform Zoom. Scheduled meeting times are included in the section details.

In addition to Zoom meetings, you will log into Canvas to post images of your work, participate in discussion boards, and watch pre-recorded demos and tutorials. You’ll have access to this online course content any time of day or night.

Courses may use reference images of the human form. References may be unclothed and anatomical diagrams are unclothed.

Each week, you will explore fundamental concepts while connecting cutting-edge practices to real-world applications.
