This spring, RISD Continuing Education offers hundreds of courses for adult and teen creatives. Whether you prefer in-person or online classes, you’ll have everything you need to sharpen your art and design skills and jumpstart your creativity.
Spring courses for adults 18+
IN-PERSON COURSES
In-person classes are offered this spring at three convenient locations: RISD campus in Providence, Tillinghast Place in Barrington, and the Westerly Education Center in southern Rhode Island. Choose from a returning favorite, such as Drawing for Beginners or Watercolor Exploration, or check out a new course such as Risograph Printing or Pattern Play: Introduction to Surface Design. Class start dates vary; registration closes two business days before class start date.
ONLINE COURSES
Whether you’re refining your craft or exploring a new medium, our expert instructors will help you stay on track and stay inspired from anywhere in the world. You can opt to take many of these courses as part of a certificate program.
- Session 1: March 2–April 12

Spring courses for teens 13–17
IN-PERSON COURSES
The return of teen in-person courses during the academic year is just around the corner! Teen students can join a course after school, on the weekends, or during a school vacation week to jumpstart their artistic exploration or continue developing creative skills. Spring course offerings include figure drawing, photography, sculpture, architecture, and more!
- April 18–May 23: 5-week courses (one class per week)
Weekends, 9 am–12 pm or 1–4 pm
Weekday evenings - April 20–24: School vacation week courses
Monday–Friday, 9 am–12 pm or 1–4 pm
Registration closes two business days before the course start date.
ONLINE COURSES
