Most of our online classes are asynchronous, meaning that discussions, course materials and assignments can be taken at any time of day, as they do not meet live. Some of our online classes are synchronous, meaning they meet live during a specific time of day, in Eastern Time, on the video conferencing platform Zoom.
All online courses are delivered through our online management system CE Link. Please visit our Registration Help page for more information about our online offerings. Join us online to stay on track with a certificate program, explore a new subject, or take your very first course in art and design!
Asynchronous discussions, course materials and assignments can be taken at any time of day, as they do not meet live. These online classes are delivered by our course management system CE Link.
Asynchronous classes do not have a set meeting time, but instead will have various touch points for interaction between students and instructor, and for student-to-student interactions. These touch points will take place through tutorials, responding to prompts, participating in discussions and sharing work.
Sharing work will include both in-process postings that require encouragement and advice, as well as sharing finished assignments and/or presentations and offering feedback. Conversations, engagement and instruction will be happening online, but not necessarily in real-time.
Please note that some instructors will offer virtual office hours where video or telephone conversations will occur, and others will include projects where small groups of students will meet through the video conferencing platform Zoom.
