A wide variety of creative experiences await adult students at RISD Continuing Education. We offer courses in a broad range of visual arts and design disciplines (both traditional and digital), as well as in topics related to art and design as integral parts of our lives and culture. We schedule these courses all year round, during the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer terms. Our faculty bring skills as practicing professionals, renowned local artists and art educators, and are eager to engage, educate and collaborate with our students.
Learn from anywhere! You’ll have access to RISD’s acclaimed curricular concept from anywhere, collaborate with like-minded creatives, and learn from faculty who are experts in their fields.
RISD CE offers non-credit courses, lectures and workshops in fine and applied art and design, at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Whatever your goal – personal enrichment or professional development – RISD CE has a course to suit your needs.
Although any RISD CE course may be taken for personal or professional enrichment, many can also be taken as part of a certificate program. Certificate programs are designed especially for adults who want a rigorous and comprehensive course of pre-professional and professional study on a part-time basis.
Each summer, RISD opens its campus to matriculating students, art and design professionals and those considering a degree in the visual arts. Students from around the world pursue a variety of art and design disciplines taught by accomplished, award-winning artists, designers and guest critics.
