Most CE courses are hosted at the RISD Campus in Providence. We now offer additional courses at the Westerly Education Center, an easy commute for students in southern Rhode Island or eastern Connecticut. Select daytime classes are available at RISD’s waterfront satellite campus Tillinghast Place, a picturesque natural environment for artmaking in Barrington, RI.
READY FOR A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE?
RISD Continuing Education offers non-credit courses, lectures and workshops in fine and applied art and design, at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Whatever your goal—personal enrichment or professional development—RISD CE has a course to suit your needs.
Although RISD Continuing Education courses may be taken for personal or professional enrichment, many may also be taken as part of a certificate program. Non-credit certificates have flexible schedules and provide studio-based learning that is current, relevant and connected to creative sector development.
In the Young Artist Program, kids (ages 6–12) shape their creativity and imagination, and teens (ages 13–17) develop their personal style as artists and designers. Year-round courses, school vacation camps and summer camps cover topics in 2D, 3D, and digital art and design. For more focused instruction, teens can enroll in one of four certificate programs.
