Most courses are hosted at the RISD Campus in Providence. We also offer additional courses at the Westerly Education Center and select daytime classes at Tillinghast Place in Barrington.

RISD Continuing Education offers non-credit courses, lectures and workshops in fine and applied art and design, at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Whatever your goal—personal enrichment or professional development—RISD CE has a course to suit your needs.

RISD Adult Certificate Programs

Certificate Programs

Although RISD Continuing Education courses may be taken for personal or professional enrichment, many may also be taken as part of a certificate program. Non-credit certificates have flexible schedules and provide studio-based learning that is current, relevant and connected to creative sector development.

Digital Design

Young Artists (Ages 6–17)

In the Young Artist Program, kids (ages 6–12) shape their creativity and imagination, and teens (ages 13–17) develop their personal style as artists and designers. Year-round courses, school vacation camps and summer camps cover topics in 2D, 3D, and digital art and design. For more focused instruction, teens can enroll in one of four certificate programs.
